Alphonse Mouzon’s name came up in a conversation about jazz players who set the pace in so many ways. I got to know Alphonse pretty well as I was his personal fitness trainer for several years.
We often talked about music in all genres as Al was well versed in many forms. He also was a great story teller as he experienced lots of shit traveling all over the world. I loved to hear his tales about music, and his views of the universe.
Alphonse died a little over a year ago but his thoughts and music are going to be with us for a long, long time.
