IMG_0304.jpgThere is a connection between the name of this website and the Session brand by CAO.

Both the website and the cigar were created to have a great time with other cigar smokers in conversing about life’s strange events, cigar talk, sports and just about anything worth discusssing.

Cigar smokers are an opinionated lot of folks yet mostly civil and respect other opinions. At least that is what I have experienced through the years.

Sessions by CAO and General Cigar is the type of cigar which gives you plenty of time to chat and fill in the details.

I received the cigar gratis from General Cigar and as always, how and where I receive the smoke does not impact my subjective view . Please try the cigar yourself and make your own opinion.

Brand/Name of Cigar: CAO/Session

Country of Origin: Dominican Republic

Size: 5.25 x 55

Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf

Binder: Dominican Vega Especial

Filler: Dominican Piloto Cubano and Nicaraguan Esteli

Shape: Garage/Double Robusto

Price: MSRP: $8.59

Where and When Smoked: Los Angeles, Ca. 10/20/19

Appearance/Construction: Big looking , black maduro with a big time cigar label. Rustic looking with some small veins present. It’s a impressive looking cigar.

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: I don’t usually comment on the aroma of a smoke but the Session had a very distinct aroma of ripe plums.

First Third: Mint, nuts and cocoa all blended together with a smooth showing that focuses on a sweeter version of the usual maduro blend.

Second Third: The second third was getting away from me as construction issues caused a deviation of the enjoyment of the smoke. The flavor was consistent but the construction was not.

Final Third: Fortunately for me the construction corrected itself and the same overall cigar essence came back.

Smoking Characteristics: Dark, grey ash with a cool burn and as I described earlier a problem of an uneven burn was corrected.

Conclusion/Overall Impression: Flavor was the best part of the smoke. The construction aside , worth a second look. Aging will add more flavor to the cigar.

Final Thoughts and the Numbers: CAO has given cigar smokers a nice blend , nice price point and a flavorful profile. Buy a five pack and decide yourself.

Appearance/Construction: 3.5 out of 5

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: 3.5 out of 5

Smoking Characteristics: 3 out of 5

Conclusion/Overall Impression: 3.3 out of 5

Keep smoking
