Cigar news you can use: So long it’s been good to know you.

As health concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic persist, Drew Estate has announced the cancellation of all Barn Smoker events scheduled throughout 2020.

The news comes two months after Drew Estate postponed the Florida Barn Smoker, the first of five events (originally slated for May 16th) dispersed throughout the 2020 season. As it has become more and more clear that large gatherings will not resume for the foreseeable future, all Barn Smokers have been cancelled, with Drew Estate refunding 100 percent of ticket sales to all that purchased tickets at any and all tiers.

Reportedly, ticket holders will be asked to submit their address here, allowing Drew Estate to ship the complete 2020 Barn Smoker Swag Set that they would have received by attending their ticketed event. The company said in a press release, “This package does not include cigars and will be shipped out by August 1st. Beyond this, Drew Estate will donate $10,000 per Barn Smoker, for a total of $50,000, to Cigars for Warriors, doubling down on our commitment to our deployed troops.” These contributions from Drew Estate have collectively been dubbed the Barn Smoker Goodwill Act of 2020.

In place of physical events, the company will host two-hour Virtual Barn Smoker HERFs, where any and all viewers are encouraged to tune in through Facebook Live, featuring Drew Estate ambassadors and farm partners that would’ve participated in each respective Barn Smoker.

The dates for the Virtual Barn Smoker Herfs are listed below, with times to be announced closer to the event on Drew Estate’s Facebook page:

  • Pennsylvania Barn Smoker Virtual Event: July 25th, 2020
  • Connecticut Barn Smoker Virtual Event: August 8th, 2020
  • Kentucky Barn Smoker Virtual Event: September 26th, 2020
  • Louisiana Barn Smoker Virtual Event: October 4th, 2020
  • Florida Barn Smoker Virtual Event: November 14th, 2020
