Cigar Review: Isabela Cigars Serpentine I like it like that

Cigar news: Review is in the books.

Cigar reviews:  Boutique cigar companies have a small window operationally when they are producing a cigar.

Everything has to work as their margins are usually  smaller and do not have the funds to make a cigar that may not attract consumers. It might be a zero sum game.

I am not saying that large manufacturers do not desire to have quality cigars. However, they usually have larger budgets to work with, so if they do not get the blend they seek, it’s easier to start from the beginning as more ready cash is available.

Isabela Cigars is a small company with great products. I have reviewed their special releases the last several years and once again am reviewing a product of theirs. They make a top flight cigar. As usual how and where I receive the cigar does not impact my subjective judgment.

Take a look at their website to view what they have to offer in their overall line. For the all the dope on this company , Isabelacigarcompany.com is your ticket.

Where and When Smoked: Los Angeles, Lone Wolf Cigar Lounge, 2/8/2020

Appearance/Construction: Firm, solid, oily to the feel,  construction with a barber pole wrapper that appears regal in looks. The cigar band throws a glimmer on the wrapper and compliments the two wrapper design. Veins are slightly present.

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: First third: The sweet flavoring of the initial contact makes an interesting start to the cigar as we also get a heady blast of pepper.  The next added layer of flavor comes from a combo of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. The contrast works well.

Second third: The blend is smoother as we get a sugar influx, almost a cookie dough taste. Spice is still there but not as pronounced as the first third.

Final third: As by magic the spice becomes a big influence as the intensity  cranks up a full notch. The overall ride is laced  with different flavors during each puff and draw of the cigar.

Smoking Characterstics:  Burns well, true, stays lit with no issues that would make the cigar a battle to smoke. The construction is well done and holds throughout the smoke.

Conclusion/Overall Impression:  Isabela Cigars continues the hit parade with a positive  well made cigar with a complex of flavors.

People evaluate cigars by looks, taste , construction and whatever they hope to get from the cigar. The cigar works for me on all those accounts. A needed addition to your humidor.

Final Thoughts and the Numbers: The Serpentine makes a good day , go better.

Sit back, smoke and keep the positive vibes in your mind  The cigar flows with solid flavor and taste. You cannot ask much more from a smoke.
