Cigar news: new face, new product.Keep smoking
PCC introduces Romeo y Julieta Club Kings. The Habanos distributor for the Asia Pacific region released the new Habanos Línea Retro Romeo y Julieta Club Kings last week in Hong Kong. During a Zoom video presentation, the distributor showed the new product and announced that other markets will receive the cigars soon.
The Romeo y Julieta Club Kings is a classic Mareva, 5?x42. The packaging was discontinued in the 1980s. Back then, the cigars came in cardboard boxes of 5, packed in a cabinet-style box full of these packs. The new Habanos Línea Retro comes in beautiful, retro-style, tins. To open the tin, you have to press the Romeo y Julieta logo.
Different packaging
The original Romeo y Julieta Club Kings came in aluminum packaging. Five cigars each in a tin. These tins were introduced in the 1960s. But for some reason, cigar smokers back then preferred the cigars to be packed in cardboard. They perceived the cardboard to be more luxurious so the Cuban government discontinued the tins and introduced the cardboard packaging. In 2017, Habanos released the Habanos Línea Retro idea with the Romeo y Julieta Club Kings and the Partagás Capitols. But due to sourcing problems with the packaging, the cigars were only released three years later, early 2020.
For now, Pacific Cigar Company only released the Romeo y Julieta Club Kings. When the Partagás Capitols will be released in the territory of PCC has yet to be revealed. The cigars haven’t been released by Habanos yet.
