Cigar review: I have waited some time for a new cigar review , so it’s about time to start the cigar ball rolling.
The CAO Vision as described by CAO maestro, Rick Rodriguez ,” only the finest Cameroon wrapper leaves were chosen. The delicate, toothy wrapper was placed over an Ecuadoran Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan Habano fillers from Esteli and Jalapa. The result is an unforgettable cigar that delivers notes of nuts and spice and culimates in a subtly sweet finish.”
As always, how and where I receive the smoke does not impact my subjective review and I advise you should try to cigar yourself.
Brand/ Name of Cigar: CAO/Vision
Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Size: 7 x 50
Binder: Ecuadoran Sumata
Wrapper: Cameroon
Filler: Nicaraguan ( Esteli and Jalapa)
Price: $18.99 , received gratis from General Cigar for review, 2500 boxes for USA market
Where and When Smoked: Los Angeles, Ca. 1/15/2021
Appearance/Construction: An attractive looking smoke with a grainy feel and medium brown wrapper. There are several veins showing but they do not mar the overall appearance of the stick. Cool looking double band with a clean, modern look.
Flavor/Taste and Aroma: First Third: Medium strength with a nutty and cashew presence. Also tasted some tangy citrus and a hit of mint.
Second Third: An addition of sweetish spice enhanced the smoke and the blend smoked true as the first third flavor profile maintained it’s steady hand.
Final Third: A steady flow of nuts, fruit and mild spice capped the finish off. Stayed medium throughout the smoke. I was hoping for a stronger finish.
Smoking Characteristics: Stayed lit, steady burn , greyish ash and not a hint of trouble in smoking.
Conclusion/Overall Imrpession/Final Thoughts: CAO cigars have been a steady purveyor of quality cigars with good price points since their inception. They are a thoughtful company and respect their clients tastes to offer a wide selection of cigars.
Limited releases are sometimes used to push up the cost of a cigar to consumers but CAO has issued a top rated cigar with a modest price. This is a product they should be proud of and if you are lucky enough , get yourself a handful or a box. It’s certainly a worthy addition to your collection.
