Cigar Review: Ramon Bueso Genesis Habano

Cigar Review: Ramon Bueso Genesis Habano

Cigar review: Ramon Bueso Genesis Habano

I have seen this smoke advertised as the new wave of cigars offering great flavor and low prices. Not sure how I resisted this offer. Cigar International made even a stronger pitch. 5 cigars , cutter and lighter for $9.99 and a small shipping charge.  That was too tempting and I opted in. The Ramon Bueso Genesis Habano was part this deal. I finally got around to smoke it and write this review. Where and how I received the cigar does not influence my subjective opinion of the smoke. Try the cigar if my review seems interesting enough for you.

Where and When Smoked : Los Angeles , 9/24/17

Appearance/Construction:

Very attractive band with a great combo of colors.  Wrapper is medium brown with a solid, oily feel . No obvious faults so it started off on a good foot.

Flavor/Taste and Aroma:

The first third was a medium spicy blend with a good combo of coffee, and chocolate. Nothing was overpowering but it has a good balance which is important in the beginning of a cigar to me. The second third the spice was pretty much the same with an added taste of mild nuts.

Smoking Characteristics:

The first third had a grey ash with an even burn and the cigar was steady throughout the smoke. No problems for the burn line, and it smoked cool.

Conclusion/Overall Impression:

This is a good buy and a pleasing cigar with nothing remarkable about it.  It would be a good cigar to have if you need to just hang out with buddies but don’t want to think too much about anything as you smoke. I would not necessarily  buy them but would not feel out of sorts buying them either. I guess that is a tepid endorsement.

Final Thoughts and Numbers:

Sale items or combo packs usually run from a good smoke to a giveaway.  A middle of the road cigar is ok .

Appearance/Construction: 3.5 out of 5

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: 3.2 out of 5

Smoking Characteristics: 3 out of 5
