Cigar News you can use: New cigar release, Casa Turrent by Cigar Insider.

Casa Turrent 1880 Ships To Retail Stores

Cigar news:  We all know the Te-Amo brand which was a staple for years in many markets. Casa Turrent have developed other lines too with some success such as the #12 cigar of the year for 2016, their Serie 1901 robusto.

The newest product is challenging the higher end cigars for a share of the big-ticket market place. Will be an interesting fight to see if the Turrent family can create their own niche.

The first family of Mexican tobacco has released their most expensive cigar to date—Casa Turrent 1880. It’s full of aged Mexican tobaccos grown by the Turrents, and will retail for around $15 to $17.

If you don’t remember seeing this cigar at the IPCPR trade show, it’s because it wasn’t there. The Turrents only started rolling the Casa Turrent 1880 three months ago. The name 1880 pays homage to the year the Turrent family first grew tobacco.

Packaged in glossy, black 10-count boxes, the Casa Turrent 1880 comes in one size: 6 1/2 inches by 54 ring gauge. The box’s dark, piano-lacquer finish is a nod to the near-black Negro San Andrés wrapper on each cigar. All the Mexican tobacco in (and on) the Casa Turrent 1880 is grown by the Turrent family, who are the most preeminent producers of Mexican tobacco in the premium cigar industry. They grow mostly in the San Andrés region.

Along with a Mexican Criollo ’98 binder, the blend consists of Mexican Negro San Andrés (50 percent), Mexican Criollo ’98, and Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 tobacco in the filler.

“The Negro San Andrés in the filler is from a 2007 crop,” said Alejandro Turrent, of A. Turrent Cigars. “The Nicaraguan tobacco is for strength.”

Though not a limited-edition brand, the Casa Turrent 1800 will be released each year as part of a limited production.

It’s made at the Casa Turrent factory in Mexico.
