Matt Booth may be hiding in your next cigar box. Caldwell Cigar Co. has rebanded some of its Eastern Standard cigars with a sketch of Room101 brand owner Matt Booth and hidden them inside cigar boxes.

“Only 5,000 Booth cigars have been released, hidden inside boxes of Eastern Standard at random,” Robert Caldwell, of Caldwell Cigar Co., told Cigar Aficionado.

The new bands are a nod to the friendship between Caldwell and Booth—the two cigarmakers recently collaborated on a cigar project called Hit & Run.

“You might get one in a box, you might get five,” Caldwell said. “The Eastern Standard blend remains the same. We were just having fun.”

The sketch of Matt Booth is a play on the regular-production image that adorns Eastern Standard—a drawing of a bearded man. According to Caldwell, the special bands can be found on any of the sizes of Eastern Standard, from the robusto-sized Corretto to the Churchill-sized Cream Crush. Each Eastern Standard comes in 24-count boxes.

The special cigars began shipping last month.
