Villiger Adding Gordo To La Vencedora Line

La Vencedora, Villiger’s full-bodied cigar brand that was introduced earlier this year, is going big with its newest size. The company will be introducing a new Gordo measuring 6 inches by 60 ring gauge at this week’s IPCPR trade show.

La Vencedora Gordo has a suggested retail price of $10.50, and like the other cigars in the line, it will be wrapped in a dark Nicaraguan cover leaf Villiger classifies as Habano Oscuro. The new smoke will begin shipping to retailers shortly after the trade show.

“The Villiger La Vencedora has been very well received and so much so that there has been demand to introduce a 6 by 60 vitola,” said Rene Castañeda, president of Villiger Cigars North America.

The new Gordo will be the fourth size in the La Vencedora line, which was recently rated in a vertical brand tasting in the May 22 Cigar Insider. In that tasting, the Churchill size scored 90 points.

La Vencedora is made at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, which also produces the Villiger San’Doro Colorado and Villiger San’Doro Claro brands.
