Cigar review: A cigar to reckon with

Cigar review: Getting a review done is a fun project.  As a blogger I get cigars from different sources depending on the cirumstances. A cigar may have been on the market for some time before I get to it.

My review of the Espinosa Laranja Reserva was part of a sampler I purchased recently from Cigars Intenational. As always how I receive or where I acquire the cigar does not impact my subjective opinion and suggest you try to product yourself.

Brand/Name of Cigar: Esponosa/Laranja Reserva

Country of Origin: Nicaragua

Size: 6 x 52

Wrapper: Braillian Laranja

Binder: Nicaragua

Filler: Nicaragua

Shape: Toro

Price: MSRP. $10.90

Where and When Smoked: Los Angeles, Lone Wolf Cigar Lounge, 9/28/2019

Appearance/Construction: The theme of orange is quite evident.  Orange cigar band, ( quite attractive) an wrapper with an orange hue to it.  Solid construction, oily feel, no soft spots or construction issues. It feels good in the hand.

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: First Third: Sweet opening with a combo of citrus, orange and lemon peel. Mild spice of  pepper but not overpowering.

Second Third: More of a pepper influence with the sweet citrus still very evident. A brief flavor of mint hits the palate. Very smooth and interesting.

Final Third: This is a medium , well balanced cigar with an additional creamy almost gelatto taste.  It’s overall a good cigar to spend an hour or so with.

Smoking Characteristics: It burns clean, no problems at all. Grey, medium ash pretty much through the whole smoke.

Conclusion/Overall Impression: A pleasure to smoke and a well made cigar. It makes a statement how good a cigar can be if you enjoy balance through and through. A five pack for sure and a box would be a good move too.

Final Thoughts and the Numbers:

Appearance/Construction; 4.2 out of 5

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: 4.3 out of 5

Smoking Characteristics; 4.0 out of 5

Conclusion/Overall Impression: 4.1 out of 5

Keep Smoking
