CAO Bones Coming to Market Next Week

There’s a new line of CAO cigars heading to retail next week and the name got its inspiration from dominoes and dice. Called CAO Bones, the upcoming brand is made in Nicaragua at the STG Estelí factory and was created by brand ambassador Rick Rodriguez and the Nicaraguan-based CAO blending team.

“Bones is about kicking back with your friends with a cold beer in your hand, playing a game, smoking, grilling, talking a little trash and having the time of your life,” Rodriguez said.

With that mission statement in mind, Bones was blended to be medium- to full-bodied via a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Connecticut shade binder and a filler combination of Nicaraguan tobacco, Dominican Piloto Cubano and Honduran leaf from two different regions: Jamastran and La Entrada.

Slated to be a regular-production brand, Bones comes in four sizes, each named after a classic game of dominoes: Chicken Foot, measuring 5 inches by 54 ring gauge; Blind Hughie, 6 by 54; Matador, 7 1/4 by 54 and Maltese Cross at 6 by 60.

They come in 20-count boxes and have suggested retail prices ranging from $7.49 to $8.99 per cigar. First shipments will head out to retailers on August 4. Each box comes with a set of dice.
