Cigar Review:
There are a whole cadre of new cigar impresarios who are leading the vanguard for the newest generation of cigar smokers. Two of the more recent and well known manufacturers are Matt Booth and Robert Caldwell.
I have met Matt Booth several times at a variety of cigar tastings and liked the way he has related to the cigar industry. Robert Caldwell I have not met but have tried several of his blends and they were well made.
The ” boys” have joined forces to create a new blend call Hit and Run Redux which is what this review is about. As always how and where I received the cigar does not impact my subjective judgment and suggest you try the cigar yourself to make your own take.
In Matt’s words, ” I’m thrilled to bring another Room 101 sub brand back to life with this expression of Hit and Run. The brand was born of a collaborative seed between myself and Robert Caldwell.”

Blend of Nicaragua C-98, Pennsylvania filler and Nicaraguan leaf.
The cigar I smoked was the Robusto, (5×50), SRP $12.99 .
I tasted it on April 22, 2024 in Los Angeles and received it gratis from General Cigar.
My experience: Sharp looking smoke with a dark brown wrapper, well constructed with no faults or imperfectations. Liked the double band with a clean look.
Flavor and Taste: Double hit of mint, dark cocoa with mild spice of white pepper.
As we ventured into the smoke, citrus was added mostly orange peel and lemon.
It was sweet, flavorful and smooth. Furthur down the line the spice increased, making the cigar even more flavorful. I was digging the cigar more and more.
My friend who also was smoking the cigar is a man of little words and said, ” it’s smooth and enjoyable to smoke.”
The cigar burned well, stayed lit, medium gray ash with no issues or problems.
Conclusion/Overall Impression and the numbers.
The cigar hit all the marks for me. Buy a five pack for sure, if you have some cash , get the 20 count box in your favorite size.
