Cigar review: Perdomo Champagne Noir

Cigar review: Perdomo Champagne Noir

If I smoked 60 cigars a week, I still would never get to write more than a review or two a week. Some cigar manufacturers have so many products on the market , the task to try them is endless. I have not smoked a Perdomo brand for quite some time. I did hit the Perdomo 2(squared) and the Lot 23 somewhat regularly but that was ages ago.

I received a sampler pack of Perdomo’s from the Lone Wolf Cigar Lounge as a birthday gift back In January. As always how and where I receive the cigar does not impact my subjective judgement of the product. If you are interested in what I wrote, please get the cigar and try it.

Appearance /Construction:

Just by the looks of this smoke, I like it already. Dark brown with an oily sheen to the wrapper. A few small veins are visible , soft construction with no apparent faults or issues.

Flavor/ Taste and Aroma:

We get the rich chocolate flavor in the first third and this is very dominant. Creamy smoke and a backdrop of cherries and apples. A medium profile which stayed consistent throughout. There were no surprises in the overall tasting of this cigar

Smoking /Characteristics:

This is a smooth operator with no Re lights, no real burn issues, a tiny glitch, two thirds in the smoke but no impact. The construction was quality. Towards the end did get a slight buzz of spice and coffee which was a great ending . The combination of construction and flavor worked for me.

Conclusion/Overall Impression:

The scope of this cigar was quality with no short cuts taken in the production. It was a fun cigar to smoke with and created a very positive experience.

Final Thoughts and the numbers:

Perdomo cigars may not be on the tip of your tongue but their blends are solid and well worth stocking in your humidor. Create some space and keep a handful for your enjoyment.

Keep smoking
