Cigar Review: The results are in. We have a winner

Cigar reviews: As a stand alone company Casa Cuevas Cigars was established in 2016 but have a storied history of making products for other cigar heavies. The cigar you are smoking may have been blended and manufactured by them.

IMG_0789.jpegThis is the first Cuevas smoke I have reviewed or even smoked. As always how and where I received the cigar does not impact my subjective judgment but advise that you smoke the cigar yourself and make your own take.

Where and When Smoked: 2/22/2020 Los Angeles, Ca. Lone Wolf Cigar Lounge

Appearance/Construction:  A lightish brown wrapper , handsome looking with a jaunty appearance. The cigar band complements the overall look of the cigar. No obvious issues in contruction or defects noted.

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: First Third: A mild start with a nutty, creamy combo and a cherry note. This interlay started the cigar with a sweet overall essence.

Second Third: Adding a citrus mix of orange and lemon peel provided more flavor and a sweet range of a well blended smooth cigar.

Final Third: A  light pop of white pepper  gave the cigar a kick to keep you interested in smoking the blend to the nub.

Smoking Characteristics: Fine construction, with an even burn, cool to the palate and stayed lit with no issues.

Conclusion/Overall Impression: We hit paydirt with the Cuevas Connecticut. As a mild to medium cigar it serves as a model for all cigars in this flavor profile. As an introduction to the company, the bar was set very high and my expectation will be that all their products are top ranked.

Final Thoughts and the Numbers: This cigar needs to be added to your collection or you will be missing an opportunity to get spoiled for an hour or so. It’s early in the season but am adding it to one of my favorites of the year.
