ROCKY MOUNTAIN CIGAR FESTIVAL 2020 CANCELED

Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival 2020 has been canceled due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual event which takes place in August is one of the largest cigar events of the year with more than 2,000 people in attendance in recent years. Smoker Friendly, the company that owns the festival, announced that it would be canceling this year’s event, originally scheduled for Aug. 29.

It comes less than a week after two competing events—Texas Cigar Festival and Smokin’ In the Carolinas—were also canceled.

The company says that all ticketholders will receive a full refund. In addition, the company plans to have a virtual event on Aug. 29 in partnership with Cigar Dojo. A package of 35 cigars and a Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival-branded cutter is being sold for $120 to coincide with that event.

There are two major cigar consumer events that still remain scheduled. Cigars International’s Cigarfest has been postponed to Oct. 16-17, while Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke Las Vegas remains scheduled for Nov. 20-22.
