Ever since the 90’s , La Gloria Cubana has made a name for itself as a premier cigar blend. I remember going to the local liquor store in Lexington, Ma. and being put on a waiting list to hopefully purchase a cigar.
It took a couple of weeks but I bought a box of 10 Torpedos for the stunning price of 75.00 which seemed very extravagant.
In today’s market Gloria does not quite have the allure of the past, but it still is a well thought of smoke.
My sample smoke to review is the Los Gloriosos Toro, a blend of Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Nicaraguan Jalapa binder.
I received the cigar gratis from General Cigar to review.
Flavor was a hit from the start. Dark coco, coffee with black tea , a strong but not overpowering first third.
Second third produced an additional flavor of nutmeg and anise.
Final third continued with the same balance of the previously mentioned tastes but the pepper became more pronounced.
Construction and burn were true with no issues.
It’s a recommended cigar with no reservations.
4.3 out of 5.
Keep smoking
