Cigar Review: Cain Lancero F
There are cigars you never get to. This is one of those cigars. I have seen them in B and M’s , catalogues , and in friends humidors however never have smoked. Some time ago , I think a friend gave me the Cain Lancero F and it remained in my humidor until today. So as always how and where I received the cigar does not influence my subjective review. If you are interested in this smoke, please decide it yourself. You can buy the Cain Lancero F at FamousCigars.com. or just about anywhere.
Brand/Name of Cigar: Cain/Lancero F
Country of Origin; Nicaragua
Size: 7 x 38
Wrapper: Nicaragua Habano
Price: app. $6.00 a stick
Where and When Smoked: Los Angeles, 9/10/17
Appearance/Construction: Medium Chocolate wrapper with a semi-oily feel to it. Solid construction , but felt a slight plug-in the middle of the smoke. Not sure what that will bring to the cigar. Veins throughout the wrapper , no problem with that. Overall, nice presentation of the whole package.
Flavor/Taste and Aroma: A powerful hit of spice grabbed me as I took the first puffs. Cain has a rep. of a full-bodied cigar and got that impression right away. Overall the black pepper was clearly the heavy hitter with a back hit of nuts, coffee and burnt oranges. Despite the spice, cigar was smooth. Second third was pretty much the same with some chocolate now being part of the package.
Smoking Characteristics: Smooth throughout the smoke with no burn issues. Ash was greyish. Good looking cigar.
Conclusion/Overall Impression: Cain has a proven winner in this cigar. I liked it as a good choice with a dark beer if I had one available. Well made for those who like a strong smoke.
Final Thoughts and the Numbers: The lancero may be a smaller size but this cigar packed a wallop. You would probably like a couple in your humidor.
