Davidoff Cigars has collaborated with the Danish artist Hanne Enemark for the design of its new Elements humidor. Craftsmanship, innovation as well as the know-how for making a unique humidor all come together.
“Building on the pioneer spirit of Davidoff, the masterpiece Elements breaks the norms of humidor design with its sleek architecture and new build,” says Edward Simon, head of global marketing and innovation at Oettinger Davidoff AG. “The challenge was to find an artist capable of completing the impressive humidor design without overpowering it. Hanne Enemark took on this task with her artistry. It is impressive to see how her creative work underscores our craftsmanship.”
Enemark’s design is inspired by Davidoff’s cigar production. The action of removing the veins of the leaves and splitting the leaves of the wrapper is reflected in the humidor in the crack along the glass surface. A great deal of precision was required to make it look unintentional. By applying the gold, Enemark emphasizes “the beauty of imperfection.”
The round “fingerprint” is the “signature” of the very first cigar by Hanne from the Davidoff flagship store in Geneva, which she kept and has now used for this exquisite gold relief. The decoration is 24-carat gold and worked into the glass as well as into the walnut wood of the humidor.
The Elements humidor is a numbered and limited series. Only five humidors, each with 50 exclusive Davidoff Double Corona 50 Years Edition cigars (except in the USA), are available worldwide from September 2018.
