We at Villiger Cigars are honored that Mr. Heinrich Villiger was nominated for the Legacy award by Tobacco Business Magazine.
In 1951, after formal training in raw tobacco, Heinrich Villiger assumes control of the company and decides to purchase Cuban tobacco for production in Pfeffikon, setting the stage for Villiger to become the world’s largest private purveyor of Cuban tobacco.
Under his leadership Villiger now has factories and Reginal Headquarters in Germany, Switzerland, France, United States, Brazil, Indonesia and Dominican Republic.
At 88 years of age Mr. Heinrich Villiger works 12 hour days, smokes 3 cigars a day, and leads the Villiger Cigar team which produces over 1.6 billion units a year. This includes premium handmade, premium machine made, and cigarillos.
