Cigar news you can use: Villiger Cigars cranking it up

Cigar News: As I just reviewed the Villiger LaVencedora robusto which I truly enjoyed, perhaps I will be able to get hold of the new Flor de Ynclan Lancero and give it a taste test.

It seems Villiger Cigars are really pushing new blends and expanding their line for the 2018 season. Why not?, if the products are well made, consumers accept and buy them , it benefits the company and of course , cigar folks. Good cigars are always welcome.

Villiger Cigars, the company behind the award-winning Villiger La Flor de Ynclan, is adding a lancero to the brand. The skinny smoke will be shorter and thicker than traditional lanceros, measuring 6 3/4 inches long by 43 ring gauge.

The cigar won’t debut to retailers until this summer at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers trade show in Las Vegas, but Cigar Aficionado smoked an early version of the new size while visiting the ABAM cigar factory in Santo Dominigo, Dominican Republic, where Flor de Ynclans are made.

The Lancero will have the same blend as the Flor de Ynclan Robusto, which was named No. 10 cigar of 2017 by Cigar Aficionado: Ecuador wrapper, Indonesian binder and a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. It will come in boxes of 25, and will have a suggested retail price of $11, the same price as the Robusto.
