ACE Prime is adding a lancero to its Luciano brand, one of the company’s original lines that’s named after co-founder Luciano Meirelles, who is also co-owner of Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua.

The Dreamer measures 7 1/2 inches by 38 ring gauge and consists of an Ecuadoran Habano cover leaf, Nicaragua binder and a blend of filler tobaccos hailing from Nicaragua and Peru. According to Meirelles, the tobaccos used in the cigar are on average aged for three years and then are aged an additional three months after rolling.

While developing the cigar, Meirelles considered how he had heard others complain of how sometimes lanceros mellowed too quickly or had too tight a draw. In response, he says he staggered the leaves in a way so that the center of the filler tobaccos are spread throughout the cigar to counteract those problems. According to the company, the cigar will be medium-full in strength.

The original release of Luciano was a 7 inch by 46 ring gauge cigar called The Traveler. Released last year as a limited-edition of 5,000 boxes, the cigar featured a different blend with filler tobaccos from Ecuador and Peru. Meirelles says he moved away from those tobaccos to create a bolder and less acidic smoke for The Dreamer.

Expected to ship at the end of this month, The Dreamer will be shipping in 15-count boxes. Due to the additional aging process, Mareilles says production will be limited to approximately 7,000 boxes per year.

Like all ACE Prime cigars, Luciano The Dreamer will be distributed by Crowned Heads.
