Cigar review: Quick hitter

Cigar review: I have a friend who has the biggest and best Cuban cigar collection that exists in my neck of the woods. In actuality he is not a big cigar smoker but every once in awhile invites me to sit down and have one one of his prized beauties with him. As always how and where I receive the cigar does not impact my subjective judgment.

The cigar was received gratis.

The cigar we smoked was a limited edition Romeo Y Julieta 2005 as pictured below.

My thoughts on this smoke.

Appearance/Construction:  Not an overwheming looking  cigar with a  medium brown wrapper, somewhat soft feel and veins showing. You cannot always judge the cigar by it’s looks but hoping this is not a detriment to the flavor and taste.

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: First Third:  Right away a wonderful combination of spice, cocoa and a nutty essence. Back drop of mild citrus and cedar. Very pleasing to the palate.

Second and Final Third: The smoke gets fuller and richer with each puff. Flavors do not change but become expressive and interesting . A top of the line cigar.

Conclusion and the Overall  numbers:

Clearly an outstanding blend with the aging giving you a super smooth cigar. As this cigar is a limited release, I was very fortunate to partake in the smoking of the cigar.

Appearance/Construction: 3.2 out of 5

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: 4.2 out of 5

Smoking Characteristics: 4.2 out of 5

Overall Impressions: 3.8 out of 5

Keep Smoking
