Cigar news you can use: From Cigar Aficionado magazine

This year’s edition of Quesada Cigars’ Oktoberfest, a series of cigars released annually in honor of the popular German drinking holiday, has begun shipping from the Dominican Republic.

Intended to be paired with German Märzen-style beer, the cigars are rolled with a dark, Mexican San Andréscover leaf, with Dominican binder and filler.

There are three primary sizes of Oktoberfest 2023: Bavarian, measuring 5 1/2 inches by 52 ring gauge ($10.80); Das Boot, 6 by 52 ($11); and Uber at 6 by 65 ($11.80). Production is limited to just 500 boxes of each size, each containing 10 cigars.

There is also a fourth size, called Salomon Press, which you can only get at Quesada-hosted events. Measuring 6 3/4 by 50, the cigar features an unusually-shaped head and foot that bulges outward with a slender middle section that is also flatly pressed, giving it an appearance somewhat like a barbell. Events are yet to be announced, but will run through September and October.

Quesada Oktoberfest is made in the Dominican Republic at the TABADEX factory.
