Cigar news you can use: Trick or treat?

Cigar review:

Gimmick cigar or the real deal?

Cigar companies sometimes throw to the consumer a seasonal blend or a novelty cigar that is designed to catch the attention of the smoking public.

Alec Bradley along with the General Cigar company has issued the Filthy Ghooligan for Halloween 2025. As Halloween is now over, you may think, I missed the deadline for the review.

Since I had no deadline and review cigars when I make the effort. Here are my subjective thoughts on this blend.

As described by Bradley Rubin, brand ambassador for Alec Bradley, ” Filthy Ghooligan is our way of having a little fun with the season, it’s still a seriously good cigar.”

I received the cigar gratis from General Cigar for review.

My thoughts:

Very striking barber pole wrapper, well constructed with a solid burn and greyish ash.

Very smooth for the first two thirds of the smoke with a complex flavor of cocoa, black pepper and malt.  Also noted hints of nutmeg and cinnamon.

The final third was overpowering with the black spice just too much for my palate.

I like medium to full bodied cigars generally, but I wished to complexity of the smoke stayed throughout the experience.

I needed to cut my smoking of Filthy Ghooligan before I finished it.

Overall, I give it a 3.2 out of 5 due to the uneven nature of the blend.

Keep smoking
