Cigar news: Another new release to smoke and review. The Stokk, a limited release from CAO and General Cigar.
The catch to this blend is, it’s a combination of Cigar and Pipe tobacco which at the halfway point kicks in. Is this true or a gimmick? I have smoked pipes and of course cigars but I think they are pretty distinctive in how they operate.
Here is my subjective review of the cigar which was sent gratis by General Cigar for review.
First third: Solid construction with no apparent issues. Ash was medium grey, no tunneling or other difficulites in smoking . Roasted coffee, medium black pepper and Oak.
Second third: the blend continued on the same path but decidingly stronger in taste.
I started to get the “pipe tobacco” influence. Still enjoying the cigar.
Final third: The cigar has become a pipe as the fire cured Latakia tobacco is front and center. I like Latakia tobacco in pipes, but not sure if this hits the spot in a cigar.
Conclusion: If you are somewhat of a adventurer in you cigar choices, you might want to give the Stokk a shot. As for me, I would rather sit down with a bowl of Latakia in my pipe and just puff away.
