Cigar news you can use: Cigar review Cohiba Rubicon

Cigar review: The Cohiba of choice is the new blend from General Cigar named the Rubicon.

A Honduras blend ” sourced from five of the world’s most respected growing regions. Rubicon gave us the opportunity to offer a cigar without boundaries. The result is a cigar that bridges tradition with a more modern expression of complexity.”

I received the cigar gratis for review from General Cigar. Here are my subjective thoughts of this blend.

A very good looking box pressed cigar with an eye catching wrapper and overall design. A box pressed Robusto, 5.5 x 55, MSRP $8.49.

First third was solid with flavors of dark chocolate, cashews white pepper. It was smooth and easy.

Second third was also pleasant with an additional flavor of orange and citrus.

Final third the cigar started to fade, as the flavors became very muddled and a metallic  presence almost overwhelmed the cigar.

It was a good attempt of a reasonable priced cigar but did not finish strong.

Rating : 3 out of 5.

Keep smoking
