Cigar news and events:
I recently returned from a pleasurable trip to New Orleans which I will first report about two cigar lounges I visited. Cigar smokers have many choices in either going to a lounge to have a drink and smoke, or just purchasing a cigar.
The first one I will chat about is a establishment called the Cigar Factory.
They have two locations, one on Bourbon street where you can buy a cigar with no lounge and another on Decatur street which has a lounge, and cigar rollers right on the premises.
I tried out one of their blends which was called the Social Club, a robusto, 54 x4/34, made from:
Brazilian binder, Nicaraguan and Brazilian filler with a Brazilian Maduro/ Connecticut/Ecuador wrapper.
The cigar really surprised me with a medium profile of cocoa, maple, almond and cream. It burned flawlessly. Hand rolled in their own local store , I ended up buying a box of this blend.
They had a vast array of other shapes, blends and sizes. I also tried a sampler pack with 4 different cigars. All their products are sold in their premises, and mail order is available in most states.
I have a great conversation with one of their staff about their products and cigars in general. I recommend a visit if you are in New Orleans.
