Cigar news: Some of the recent cigars I have sampled and my thoughts.
Bolivar Limited Edition Aniversario. A very full bodied smoke with intense flavors, featuring Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Brazilian Arapiraca binder and combined fillers from Paraguay, Argentina , Columbia and Brazil.
I was not aware the several of these countries produced any amounts of tobacco but here we are.
We tasted black pepper, dark cocoa, deep earth that also combined salt and molasses.
Excellent construction and balance throughout the smoke. Be prepared for a powerful experience and please sit down when you smoke it.
Second on my hit list was the El Rey del Mundo Appointment line. Many of you know , this brand is one of my favorites regardless of price point. It is meaty with a medium to full bodied blend of tobaccos from Brazil, Nicaragua and made in Honduras.
The cigar is a great companion for a flavorful hour of pepper, nutmeg and maple. Construction was solid from start to finish. I read some reviews that thought the cigar was pretty mediocre without any real distinguishing notes.
Guess you should buy a couple and make your own comparsions.
Smoking a Cohiba is always controversial as the non Cuban variety is often considered a poor substitute by many. This limited edition has a five leaf blend with Mexican wrapper, Nicaragua binder with a Dominican Piloto Cubano , Esteli, Jalapa Valley Ligero Nicaragua.
With an MSRP of $29.99 you should expect a great deal and you get back a great deal of outstanding cigar. Medium to full bodied , (especially as you smoke down) rich in flavor. Cocoa, orange peel and maple give this cigar a well balanced taste. Construction is without peer. Take a careful look at the photo and without smoking the cigar you will totally understand what this cigar is about.
I received the cigars gratis from General Cigar for my reviews. As always, you should make your own opinions about each cigar.
Keep smoking
