Each cigar has its advocates and detractors. Making a cigar which hopefully will sell, and be a consistent winner is a difficult task.  Some cigars are in the loop for a spell and then fall by the wayside. Other cigars just end up in the bargain bin.

Alec Bradley cigars have had more successes than misses. The Nico Puro is a cigar with a steady following at least what I have seen. My local B and M tells me the product does leave the shelf regularly.

I received the cigar as part of a package I purchased and as always how and where I received the cigar does not influence my take. I suggest if you desire  to make your own judgement  the best idea is smoke it yourself.

Brand/Name of Cigar: Alec Bradley/ Nico Puro Rosado

Country of Origin: Nicaragua

Size: 5 x 50

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano and Colorado Rosado

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Shape: Robusto

Price: $7.00 MSRP

Where and When Smoked: Los Angeles Ca, 4/29/18

Appearance/Construction: Reddish-brown with an oily feel and many small veins showing. Rustic looking , solid construction, appears well made. The cigar band was somewhat busy.

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: My immediate flavor was a pleasing combo of nuts, straw and something else which was fruity but not clear what. It was smooth, with nice smoking attributes.

The second third continued to give me Sunday love , now showing a taste of spice which gave a true medium flavor.

The final third dropped a notch for me as the cigar developed some flinty notes.

Smoking Characteristics: Straight even burn, one relight which was the result of the windy day and not the cigar. Burned cool and steady.

Conclusion/Overall Impression: Several years ago I discussed in my blog about how Alec Bradley had so many cigars in his quiver that the quality control would be impacted. Fortunately the Nico Puro Rosado is a good smoke with a worthwhile taste profile. It is likeable cigar , nothing fancy but gives you good value.

Final Thoughts and the Numbers:

Appearance/Construction: 3.5 out of 5

Flavor/Taste and Aroma: 3.3 out of 5

Smoking Characteristics: 3.5 out of 5

Conclusion/Overall Impression: 3.3 out of 5

A worthwhile smoke for most, gives you enough flavor,  which is what you should expect. Buy a couple but not box worthy.

Keep smoking
