Cigar News you can use: Two new blends from old friends

Cigar news: CAO and Punch Cigars have been around for what? 10,000  years. Slight exaggeration as they both are well known brands with loyal followers under the General Cigar mantleship.

First off, Punch Cigars has once again produced the limited edition Egg Roll XL.

A variation from their annual production run of the Egg Roll, it is a hefty 6 x 60 bomb with a USA Broadleaf wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and a combination of Dominican , Mexican and USA fillers.

SRP of $7.99 available now.

CAO is giving us the Flathead Speedshop Habano, a well crafted blend of Ecuador Habano wrapper, A San Andres binder and Nicaraguan , Dominican filler.

Power and grace are the hallmarks of this Flathead smoke and available in three sizes. Price point is between $8.99 and $10.99 depending on the smoke size.

Some of my cigar smoking friends  and myself sat down in the beautiful SoCal. weather to sample the wares. The verdicts indicated in both cigars are well crafted smoke with different characteristics.

The Punch was a heavy smoke ingrained with black pepper, cocoa , maple and slight drop of citrus. I would describe it as medium to full bodied.

The CAO was somewhat lighter on the palate , more medium in overall taste, fairly complex with a lighter taste of white pepper, caramel and berry overtones.

We had no problem with either cigar in construction or appearance.

Both are worth considering for your pleasure.

Keep smoking
